Postdoctoral Positions in MRI
Postdoctoral positions in medical imaging with a particular focus on MRI are available in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco.
Research in the host laboratory of Dr. Roland Krug focuses on the development and application of quantitative MRI methods including advanced image acquisition, reconstruction, and post-processing of MR data with a focus but not limited to musculoskeletal applications. We develop and apply state of the art imaging techniques such as ultra-short-TE (UTE) imaging, chemical shift fat quantification (Dixon), T1rho mapping, and high-resolution imaging for the assessment of lower back pain, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. We also develop image processing algorithms for voxel based relaxometry, image registration, coil correction, water/fat quantification etc. There are great opportunities in our department to be strongly involved in machine learning techniques and other novel methods.
Candidates have also the opportunity to actively participate in translational studies applying the above methodology to patients. The interested candidate will be encouraged to develop her/his own research projects.
The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging accommodates multiple whole-body MRI research scanners (GE Healthcare) operating at 1.5, 3 and 7T field strength, designed for patient related research. The imaging centers are directly located at the San Francisco Bay in Mission Bay and China Basin. For further information please visit our website at:
If interested please contact Dr. Roland Krug at Roland.Krug@ucsf.edu
UCSF is an Affirmative Action/ Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, including minorities and women. UCSF seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
