The department of Internal Medicine I, cardiology of the university hospital Wuerzburg is looking for a postdoctoral researcher.
Post-doc position in cardiac MRI methods development
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher within the context of a 3-year-research-project on myocardial motion analysis in close cooperation with the “Magnetic Resonance and X-ray Imaging Department Development Center X-ray Technology Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS” http://www.iis.fraunhofer.de. The main task will be to develop a robust methodology for 3D motion estimation with 3D phase contrast MRI at 1,5T and 3T. Hereto, the candidate can build upon an existing customized sequence and post-processing previously developed by the researchers at the University of Wuerzburg. However, novel methods will also be explored as a means to possibly increase the resolution of the resulting data.
- You have a PhD degree in a relevant domain but preferably in MRI physics/methods development
- You have good programming skills in Matlab/IDEA/ICE and/or C/C++
- You are familiar with cardiac MRI imaging and its applications
- You are fluent in oral and written English
- You are enthusiastic and working result oriented and team oriented
We offer a 3-year full-time post-doctoral position with market conform wages (TVL-E13) in a large, multidisciplinary research center in the heart of Europe. The position is immediately available. A disabled person will be employed preferably if qualifications are equal.
About the lab and the universities:
Although an independent research profile will be stimulated, supervision will be provided by Dr. Oberberger of the cardiology department of the university of Wuerzburg and Dr. Moerchel of the Fraunhofer institute in close cooperation. Daily activities will take place at the MRI group of the physics department of the University of Wuerzburg (https://www.physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/ep5/home/) and at the fraunhofer institute. You will have access to 1,5T and 3T whole body scanners and to highfield scanners at 7T, 11,7T and 17,6T in a multi-disciplinary research institute where various researchers work on fundamental and translational research in the area of NMR, MPI, medical imaging and image processing. The Fraunhofer institute is located on the campus of the University of Wuerzburg where basic researchers and clinicians work in close cooperation.
November 30th, 2018.
Procedure to apply:
Please send your CV, motivation letter and at least one recommendation letter as one pdf to Dr. Johannes Oberberger and Dr. Philipp Moerchel by email ( Oberberger_J@ukw.de / email@example.com ).
